Meet Our High Performance Federation Tennis Coaches
Federation coaching requires far more than delivering sessions on court. Coaches may be responsible for developing national-level players, creating performance pathways, contributing to long-term development programmes and working alongside multidisciplinary teams.
They also need to understand how individual player development fits within the wider objectives of a national federation.
This week’s featured coaches are Lenoir Ramos, Meher Boughnimi, Igor Perak and Marko Strilic.
Lenoir Ramos

Lenoir Ramos believes that high performance coaching is as much about understanding the player as it is about technical development. His approach puts the individual first, with a strong focus on understanding how a player thinks, what motivates them and how to help them perform at their best both on and off the court.
His background includes seven years as a Division I coach, where he built and developed his own programme, as well as experience travelling with a player who reached a career-high ranking of World No. 69. He has also worked within a national federation environment in Asia, giving him experience across different cultures, playing styles and performance levels.
Lenoir places particular importance on identifying a player’s strengths and weaknesses and adapting his coaching accordingly. He also recognises the role that communication and relationships play in high performance tennis, including building trust not only with the player, but with family members and the wider support team.
His international experience has helped him develop an adaptable coaching style and an understanding of how to work effectively with players at different stages of their development.

Meher Boughnimi

Meher Boughnimi brings more than 15 years of coaching experience together with a strong background as both a high-level player and coach. A former Tunisian national team player and African champion, he understands the demands of international competition from both sides of the court.
His coaching career has included roles as a national team coach and technical director at leading clubs in Tunisia. During this time, Meher has worked in the development of junior ITF players, African champions and national team players, giving him extensive experience of helping talented athletes progress within structured high performance environments.
Meher holds a Master’s degree in Physical Education and an ITF Level 3 High Performance certification. His approach combines technical and physical player development with performance analysis, communication and long-term planning.
A particular strength is his ability to look beyond individual sessions and contribute to wider development projects. He believes in creating a demanding but positive environment where players are challenged to improve while receiving the support needed to reach their potential.

Igor Perak

Igor Perak brings extensive international coaching experience, having worked with players in Croatia, Austria, Lebanon and Switzerland. His background includes coaching both recreational and competitive players across different age groups, giving him a broad understanding of how athletes progress through different stages of their tennis development.
A national doubles champion himself, Igor combines first-hand competitive experience with a coaching philosophy centred around long-term player development. His work focuses on technical excellence, mental resilience and helping players develop the professional standards and values required both on and off the court.
Igor understands that federation coaching is also about creating effective pathways for talented players. His experience working across different international tennis environments enables him to adapt his approach while maintaining clear expectations around performance, development and professionalism.
He aims to represent the organisations he works with through integrity, dedication and a commitment to helping players maximise their potential while contributing positively to the wider development of the sport.

Marko Strilic

Marko Strilic brings significant federation experience, having worked with national tennis programmes in Hungary, China, Great Britain and Canada. This international background has given him first-hand experience of different high performance systems and approaches to player development.
His contribution within federation environments has extended beyond day-to-day coaching. Marko has focused on improving training quality, refining the details that influence player progression and working closely with multidisciplinary teams to strengthen planning, organisation and daily performance.
During his career, he has coached and supported players including Fábián Marozsán, Bu Yunchaokete, Ella McDonald, Charlie Robertson, Victoria Mboko, Marina Stakusic, Carson Branstine and Maia Lumsden.
Working with players at this level has reinforced Marko’s belief that successful high performance environments require both attention to the individual athlete and an understanding of the federation’s wider objectives. His approach centres on creating the conditions in which players can maximise their potential while contributing to a structured, long-term development pathway.
