All of the courses at New Forest Tennis Breaks are designed by Director of Tennis, Mike Moir. Mike has been involved in tennis since a junior and has gained a wealth of experience from competing in club, county and ITF events through to coaching at grass roots level as well as performance level. Mike has coached in large commercial centres and in private clubs; creating innovative coaching programmes. In all settings Mike has remained focused on enabling players to make effective changes to their game, enabling players to develop the tools required to achieve a more consistent and winning game. His passion for the game has led him to be involved in Coach Education, he has enjoyed supporting the development of other coaches. Over recent years Mike has been busy establishing New Forest Tennis Breaks and its equivalent in Lanzarote. Mike’s vision for the breaks is to share his knowledge of an ever changing game with players who are seeking to develop more from tennis and are keen to enjoy the company of like-minded players in a spectacular part of the UK.
We have been delivering tennis breaks in Lanzarote for 14 years and gained a detailed knowledge of the island along the way. It started by word of mouth amongst various clubs Mike had connections to or players he had worked with. It has slowly grown over the years and is now a regular destination for many groups that have enjoyed their tennis with New Forest Tennis Breaks. In this way a bespoke tennis break has been enjoyed and continues to be offered. Lanzarote is an ideal tennis destination. Situated off the coast of Africa, Lanzarote is the most easterly of the Canary Islands. Lanzarote enjoys a mild, dry climate with average daytime temperatures ranging from 21°C in January to 29°C in August.
