I have worked under Alex’s management as a tennis coach in Europe and have also employed Alex as a coach whilst teaching at Abingdon School in Oxfordshire. Alex’s tennis experience is clearly very extensive and I know that he will be a fantastic addition to any tennis program. I have seen Alex be equally comfortably coaching students of different ages and abilities, ranging from National Junior players to introducing young students to the sport. His preparation demonstrates thoughtful planning and progression. His style of coaching is a collaborative, reciprocal style, demanding interaction with the students and encouraging them to stretch themselves and really think about what it is they are learning. He has a very relaxed, calm demeanor in his delivery, but underneath there is a steeliness, which ensures that progress is swift. He is a very determined, committed individual who is thoroughly reliable, supportive, and understands the need to be tolerant of others. Alex is a highly skilled professional, with an in depth knowledge of every aspect of the sport. He possesses all the right qualities of a very effective coach and colleague. He has a very good rapport with his students, and they demonstrate a great deal of respect for him. He has a tremendous sense of humour, which endears him to his students and colleagues alike. He works very well with a team and brings a positive approach to the envoirment he is involved with. Alex is a highly respected coach amongst his peers and is at ease managing staff and whole tennis programs. I have no hesitation in supporting Alex be it tutoring coaches, training tennis teams or working with professional players. Yours faithfully, Steve Brenchley (Director of Sport)

To whom it may concern, Re. Alex Harvey Alex is a popular coach who is able to add a blend of fun and humour to his sessions - he will appeal to a broad range of ages/abilities and is an adaptable and experienced coach. I met him when I was the Tennis Director of the Roehampton club, I was sorry for him to leave the team, but very happy he then gained the position of Head coach at the Wimbledon club. These qualities were perfectly displayed when he delivered a Doubles Drills course for the RPT I attended – he was able to deliver an informative, fast-moving and enjoyable course that tailored to a wide range of coaches which is not easy. He provided us with drills that were new to us all and were very challenging. Kind Regards, Danny Sitton Sports Executive

Rodica Nedescu Re: Tennis Coach – Mr Alex Harvey I am delighted to be in position to express my gratitude as a parent for the work, expertise and patience Alex has showed towards my son for almost 4 years. My son has started to have a serious interest in tennis at about 8 years old and from 8.5 years he attended the tennis classes in groups twice/week and 1:1 with Alex. We have realised because he started later than other kids who probably started to play tennis at 4-5 years old he needed more input and training. Initially he trained 8-10 hours /week in 1:1 classes. It has been a process that our entire family cherish for life as Alex managed to install in my son not only the tennis foundation skills needed but the confidence that a tennis player needs in order to believe in himself to progress. He started to compete in Orange ball competitions after 9 competitions he attended he managed to be in 3 finals and win a tournament. We realised he loves tennis and we need to consider a different pathway for him. We decided to take him to the best tennis Academy in the world which is IMG – Nick Bolletieri (10 no 1 in APT/WTA) to have their coaches assess what level our son is at 9.5 years after a very intensive training programme with Alex. Their report was very good and our son was praised mostly for his technical skills and correct technique used on the main shots. Of course he needed to improve on fitness, his serve and other areas like every junior, but the base was strongly in the right place which gave us confidence this is something he wants to do. Next year we spent a week at Rafa Nadal’s Academy which he truly enjoyed it and cemented our belief that he will need to take his tennis further. Having been to both of these World class facilities we strongly believe Alex has technically been the best coach we have come across. Alex’s input and more importantly care towards junior development process for players to develop as a complete player building up resilience, confidence not only tennis skills are resonating with my son for life. He, his grandmother and I are forever grateful for Alex’s time and dedication to the profession of bringing new talent to accomplish their dreams in their athlete career. My son has attended an assessment camp this summer at David Ferrer Tennis Academy in Alicante and has been deemed suitable to enrol in a full time pro- programme combined with a school programme in a private British School which has worked with David’s Team in creating a special academic programme for young athletes. He is the youngest full time athlete in David Ferrer Academy starting this autumn (1 month ago) at 11 years 11months old. The rest are 13 and above. It is a gruelling programme designed for the fittest, but after 2 weeks all the coaches are praising him for his dedication, his technique and desire to work hard. All that has been achieved through almost 4 years of training with Alex in the long 1:1 sessions and long discussions about his approach to tennis life, competitions and desire to succeed. We will be forever grateful and regardless how far our son may develop or not we will aim to keep in contact with Alex and see him and attend his group classes which are very enjoyable every time my son will visit London. Should you require further details do not hesitate to contact me. Yours sincerely, Rodica Nedescu (mother)
