Carlos Reid
Accomplished tennis coach with 10 years of coaching experience of all ages and levels. Currently working around 35 hours a week as a full time coach for Sparta Tennis Academy in Auckland New Zealand, which is one of New Zealand’s largest and highest performing Tennis Academy’s renowned for coaching beginners all the way to national champions. I have Specific expertise in being able to coach a wide range of players of all ages and abilities in both private and group sessions as well as coaching large squads of highest performing tennis players in the country. Also coaching with a strong playing background, competing in the top club side at Campbell Park and multiple top 10 results in junior age group’s at New Zealand National’s.

- 2022: Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) Level 1 – Certified Tennis Coach
- 2022: SafeSport Trained Certified – USTA Certification

Experience as a player:
- 2020: National ranking of 95 in New Zealand for Open Men’s
- 2008-2020: Otago Tennis representative (Junior and Senior). 2012-2020: Men’s top regional representative team ranging from playing no. 1-4.
- 2014 and 2015: Best tennis player award at John McGlashan College
- 2010-2015: Played number 1 and 2 in the John McGlashan College 1st tennis team, which one South Island regional title twice and finished 4th at NZ national school’s teams event on 2 occasions.
- 2014: Placed 3rd in Singles and Doubles at the u16 National tennis tournament in New Zealand.

Tennis is just one of my many sporting interests. I am also a very passionate golfer and am involved in other sports such as basketball, cricket and rugby where I no longer play to a high level but fulfill my time by following and socializing with many teams here in New Zealand.

- 2013-2020: Head tennis coach in Dunedin, coaching private and group lessons at John McGlashan College’s top tier teams and beginner groups / individuals. Club coach at Balmacewen and Eastern Harbor Tennis Club’s
- 2016: Head coach of John McGlashan College 1sts tennis team, supervising and coaching them on trips away to South Island National tournaments.
2012-2020: Assistant Tennis Coach
- 2012-2020: Assistant Tennis Coach for Aspiring Tennis Academy in Wanaka during summer periods, coaching all ages from 5-50. Coaching both individuals and squads of up to 10 kids.
2016-2020: Tennis Camp Facilitator / Instructor
- School holiday camp facilitator for the Aspiring Tennis Academy in Wanaka. Head coach of 20 or more children during these holiday camps.
