César Coutinho is a globally respected tennis coach and performance expert with more than two decades of experience developing athletes and coaches worldwide. He founded César Coutinho Tennis in 2004, guiding players from youth to elite levels and contributing to the success of athletes such as Gastão Elias and top ATP/WTA professionals.
As Performance Director in Belgium (2016–2022), he implemented a development model that produced record national results, while his CCTennis Performance program earned TopSport Structure recognition for its high-level, age-specific training.
From 2018 to 2024, he transformed Portugal’s coaching education system, creating the world’s first blended-learning tennis certification and the “From Grassroots to the Top” framework. A published author, educator, and former university professor, César holds advanced degrees in sports science and high performance, completed PhD coursework in biomechanics, and has shaped modern tennis development through his research, teaching, and innovative coaching methodology.

In 2004, he founded César Coutinho Tennis, a development-focused program that has guided players from their formative years to elite levels. His coaching has contributed to the rise of athletes like Gastão Elias (ITF Junior No. 6, ATP No. 57), while his consulting has supported ATP and WTA professionals, including Tommy Robredo (former ATP No. 6). He has coached and mentored players in Portugal, Belgium, England, Finland, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Norway, and the USA.
From 2016 to 2022, as Performance Director in Belgium, César implemented a development model that produced record national titles and youth national team selections, helping players like Nand Vandepoele and Indira Lepage reach national No. 1 rankings and international recognition.
