COACH/WORK EXPERIENCE CONTINUED
Adept in planning and delivery of sessions relevant to players short & long term goals/vision for their game and creation of tournament schedules in line with their age/stage of development. A proven ability to create an effective environment/ atmosphere where the player can gradually transform emotionally/physically over time to become a player that can compete and win internationally whilst progressing through the different stages of LTA player pathway scheme. I facilitated and contributed to team meetings including Individual Development Plan reviews, mid-year check ins and annual end of year performance reviews with the LTA (British Tennis Federation) where the player, their programme and annual goals/targets are discussed collaboratively. I delivered player performance reports in Microsoft Word/Excel & developed new training programmes and activities in order to enhance/improve the players level/ranking & remained a constant presence whenever needed during our time together (9 years, 40-45 weeks a year including early mornings, evenings and weekends).
During my time working with Jay I witnessed various LTA Performance Director’s implement and sometimes create each stage of the LTA’s 10 Year Performance Strategy/Long-Term Development plan which included the Player Pathway and involved philosophical and operational values and behaviours, deterministic models, talent identification, testing and tracking/analysis and setting bench marks & systems for British players to evaluate themselves against the world’s best age & game style equivalent.
A natural ability to help players of varying ages & ability understand and practice the basic fundamentals of tennis, as well as the most up-to-date game strategies, methods, approaches, frameworks and techniques including the British Doubles system developed by Louis Cayer coach of multiple world No1 doubles players and with constant upskilling taking place to stay up to speed on the latest training methods.
