Gabriel Runcan – High-Performance Tennis Coach | Resort & Club Specialist | Available Worldwide I am an international tennis coach with hands-on experience at two of the world\\\’s most recognised tennis academies — the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca and the Emilio Sánchez Academy in Barcelona.

I am now actively seeking a resort, hotel, or club coaching position and am open to relocation anywhere in the world: Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, the Caribbean, or the Americas. My coaching background spans the full spectrum of player levels.

PTR Level 3 – Tennis Director

The highest level of PTR certification, qualifying me to direct and oversee full tennis programmes at club, academy, and resort level.

ITF Coaching Certification

International Tennis Federation accreditation, recognised globally across clubs, federations, and international academies.

LTA Coaching Certification

Lawn Tennis Association accreditation, one of the most respected coaching qualifications in the European tennis industry.

Catalan Tennis Federation – Level 2 Coach

Regional federation certification obtained during my years coaching in Barcelona, Spain.

Education

HNC University Diploma – London, United Kingdom
Higher National Certificate level qualification, providing a strong academic foundation alongside my professional coaching career.

About Me

Tennis has taken me across three continents and through some of the most demanding coaching environments in the world. Growing up in Romania, I fell in love with the sport early and dedicated myself to understanding not just how to play, but how to teach it — properly, at the highest level.

That path led me to Spain, where I spent years coaching at the Rafa Nadal Academy and the Emilio Sánchez Academy. Those experiences shaped everything about how I work: the attention to detail, the discipline, the belief that every player — regardless of level — deserves a structured, thoughtful approach to their development.

Outside of the academy world, I have travelled extensively for coaching — supporting players on tour through Europe, Africa, and Central America. Those trips taught me something just as valuable as any certification: how to read people quickly, connect across language barriers, and perform professionally in environments that are constantly changing. I genuinely thrive in that kind of setting.

I am Romanian by background, Spanish by adoption, and internationally minded by choice. I speak English and Spanish fluently, and I have always been drawn to cultures different from my own. Wherever I land next, I commit fully — to the programme, the team, and the guests or members I serve.

When I am not on court, you will find me watching match footage, studying periodisation methodology, or exploring wherever in the world I happen to be. I believe a curious coach is a better coach.

I am at a point in my career where I want to take everything I have learned in high-performance academies and bring it to a resort or club environment — somewhere I can combine excellent coaching with genuine guest experience and be part of building something special. One of my most formative roles, working within a globally recognised academy that attracts players, coaches, and families from every corner of the world. I led international junior squads through structured macro and micro training cycles, designed and delivered integrated on-court sessions, and provided detailed match video analysis to support player development. I also travelled with players to tournaments across Europe, giving me hands-on experience as a travelling coach in competitive environments. Working alongside professionals from over ten different nationalities in a high-expectation, hospitality-oriented setting gave me a strong foundation for resort and international club work.
