The Ranelagh Club is a members and guests, non-profit, sports and leisure Club, located in Mt Eliza, on the Mornington Peninsula. After 10 years away from the tennis courts, I returned to compete under the hands of coach Ivo Fonseca, who motivated and prepared me properly for the Tennis seasons, focused on obtaining peaks of form in the most important competitions, National Team Championships, Championships Individual Nationals and World Championships - ITF Senior Circuit. Ivo, whenever possible professionally, was present at important moments and competitions, such as National Championships and World Championships, and his presence and the period of training with him that preceded the major competitions were fundamental. Ivo's demands and exactitude as a coach regarding short, medium and long-term planning were under Ivo's responsibility, and were met in person and sometimes remotely, as he was involved in projects in other countries, but never stopped collaborating with me. Technical/tactical corrections, often going down to detail, were fundamental for optimizing performances and for the excellent results obtained since 2015, which I will briefly list: • +60 A-level tournament wins, +35 (Portuguese 1st division); + 100 wins in level B, +35 and +40 tournaments (2nd Portuguese division); 4 National Titles - National Team Championship 1st Division, +35, representing Clube Ténis do Porto; 6 titles from the 7 Masters contested (a competition that brings together the 4 best athletes from the previous year at the beginning of the year); 4 National Singles Champion Titles (2019, 2020, 2021 and 2023); • . 7 National Men's Doubles Champion Titles (2015, 2016, 2017, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023); 8 National Mixed Doubles Champion Titles (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023); 3 National Singles Vice-Champion titles (2017, 2018 and 2023); 2 National Vice-Champion titles in Men's Doubles (2018 and 2019); 1 National Mixed Doubles Champion Title (2015); Ranking no 1 in Portugal in 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2002 and 2023, in my respective bracket + 35 and + 40, having been no 1 in both age Groups in the 1st year of transition. - In the 9 years of competition in Individual National Championships I managed to achieve the Tri- Championship three times, winning the 3 categories (Singles, Men's Doubles and Mixed Doubles), which, considering the country's strong level, was only achieved equally by the athlete Fred Gil (ex 50 ATP) twice. I was called up to the National team since the Federation created teams for the World Championships, being present in Miami (2019), Croatia (2021), Portugal (2022) and Turkey (2023), with Turkey being the only World Championship in which I competed in the competition as teams and individually. Portugal in the M40 category came in 6th place, having obtained the best classification ever in the category and in the individual competition I became champion of Table B, ITF Young Seniors Individual World Championship in singles (5 wins) and was 1/4 finalist in Men's Doubles and Mixed Doubles, having only conceded with the winners and finalists of the competition respectively. All the results and success achieved were only possible due to Ivo's in-depth knowledge as a coach at a technical, tactical, physical, and mental level, where I became an even more complete player in a very competitive Portuguese circuit and very visible even due to the international results obtained (teams and individually) in recent years on the international Veterans circuit and also full of former ATP players. I currently count only at national level from 2016 to 2023 with 499 games played with just 71 defeats, making up 88% of victories. In terms of coaching, Ivo, in addition to his extraordinary technical skills, has unique motivational abilities that can get the most out of his players, and establish a unique human relationship, without neglecting the necessary demands of this sport, something that is only within the reach of the best coaches. Ivo is constantly looking for challenges and overcoming himself, just as he was with me, when he wanted to take the leap towards the World Championships, when three years ago I thought I would leave the competition because I had achieved all my objectives at national level, not maintaining motivation to continue at national level. It is his sole responsibility for another 3 full years of sport success and fantastic international results with victories, to mention an example victory over the ITF Young Seniors Individual World Championship, Singles Finalist M35 (2019), Marvin Colley, from the United States America in the World Championship Croatia 2021, and the three sets game with ex-No. 1 of M35, Henry Choi, from Canada in the World Championship Lisbon 2022.
