Hello! I’m Laurentiu Oprea, a professional tennis coach from Brașov, Romania. Tennis has been my greatest passion for as long as I can remember, and it has shaped both my life and career. From my early days as a competitive player to many years of coaching across different countries, this sport has taught me discipline, patience, and the joy of constant improvement.
As a coach, I always strive to be better,better for my players, better in my own game, and better as a person. My goal is to create an environment where every player feels motivated, supported, and excited to grow. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to take your performance to the next level, I’m here to guide you with enthusiasm, experience, and a genuine love for the game.

About Me
With over 40 years of professional coaching experience, I specialize in developing players of all levels through a balance of technical precision, strategic understanding, and mental discipline. My coaching philosophy focuses on building strong fundamentals while tailoring training programs to each athlete’s unique strengths, goals, and style of play. Having worked with juniors, competitive adults, and high-performance athletes, I bring a patient, motivating, and results-driven approach to every session. Whether you’re aiming to refine your technique, elevate your match strategy, or compete at a higher level, I’m committed to helping you unlock your full potential on the court.
Experience
With a foundation built on decades of dedication to the sport, my tennis journey began in 1980 with the obtainment of my player license, followed soon after by my first tournament victory in Bucharest in 1982. From 1986 to 1990, I had the honor of competing as a member of the Romanian National Team, achieving numerous victories in professional tournaments and gaining the high-level competitive experience that continues to shape my coaching philosophy today.
In 1991, I transitioned into coaching, beginning at Metalul Târgoviște Club and later continuing at T.C. Olimpia Brașov, where I refined my approach to developing strong fundamentals and strategic awareness in players. My career then expanded internationally, spending six years at Grida Village Hotel in Antalya, Turkey, followed by seven years at T.A.N. Club Istanbul and four more at T.E.D. Club Istanbul. From 2015 to 2017, I coached at Koza WOS in Istanbul, one of the region’s most dynamic tennis environments, working with players across all levels. I further broadened my international coaching profile in Germany during 2017–2020 as a coach for TC BW Bohlsbach in Offenburg.
With over 40 years of coaching experience across Romania, Turkey, and Germany, I bring a deep understanding of player development, technical precision, and motivational guidance. My coaching style blends professional discipline with a personalized, high-energy approach, helping athletes grow in confidence, refine their technique, and reach their true potential on the court.
