Michael Billson - Tennis Coach

Suffolk
United Kingdom

UK-based self-employed tennis coach seeking travel coaching opportunities or a long-term role in Europe. I’ve consistently developed national-level U14 juniors and currently coach a 17-year-old ranked UK Top 50 by UTR.

My coaching blends old-school discipline with modern performance methods, focusing on strong technical foundations and hard work. Having travelled the world as a former snowboarder, I value developing well-rounded athletes with ambition, resilience, and perspective both on and off the court.

About Me

Originally, my passion was snowboarding. Before breaking my collarbone for the second time, my goal was to pursue it as far as I could. Alongside that journey, I qualified as a tennis coach to work during the summers — a decision that ultimately shaped my career.

After COVID, I left France and returned to the UK to fully commit myself to tennis coaching and see how far I could take it. Since then, I’ve built players and results that I’m incredibly proud of. While I may not have a standout playing career of my own, the players I’ve developed since returning to the UK reflect the standards and ambition I bring to coaching.

I still snowboard whenever I can and love spending time in nature. Adventure and perspective have always been a big part of my life. In 2010, a friend and I drove from Cambridge, England, to Cape Town, South Africa — an experience that says a lot about my mindset: dream big, commit fully, and make it happen.

Living in the French Alps also allowed me to learn French. It’s not perfect, but I see language as another powerful tool for connection, growth, and creating excellence within an international environment.

I have an advanced motoring certificate and was a professional chauffeur for 5 years.

Mobile stringing service on the road.
