Mikus Losbergs
My name is Mikus Losbergs and I am from Latvia. Currently, I live in California, USA, and work as the men’s tennis assistant coach at California State University, Sacramento which is a Division 1 school. Prior to becoming a college coach, I worked with top players, such as Jelena Ostapenko, Ernests Gulbis, Ajla Tomljanovic, Kayla Day, as a hitting partner and was a tennis pro at a world-class facility, Evert Tennis Academy in Florida.

I graduated from Sacramento State University where I played exclusively at #1 position in singles and #1 position in doubles for 4 years straight. I had singles and doubles ATP points, was ranked top 30 in NCAA, and played Davis Cup for Latvia three times.
Experience
August 2019 – Present: ASSISTANT MEN’S TENNIS COACH, California State University, Sacramento
- Design and run tennis and fitness practices for a D1 team
- Perform on-court hitting with the student-athletes
- String racquets for the players on a daily basis
- Evaluate and recruit high-level American and international players
- Coordinate team travel including travel, meal, and housing arrangements
- Help with off court duties including fundraising functions, team meetings, and budget planning
