Shivika Burman
I was introduced to this sport at the age of 9 by my father, who is a former professional tennis player from the city of Kolkata, West Bengal in the eastern part of India. Through my professional career, I have played multiple singles and doubles tournaments across the globe. With time and due to some unfortunate injuries hindering my game, I decided to pursue my long cherished goal of opening my own tennis academy — to train and help young kids follow their own tennis dream.

Apart from the game itself, tennis has allowed me to travel to more than 50 countries and discover communities which share similar values as mine.

- Hitting partner of WTA player Dalila Jakupovic from Slovenia at 2019 US Open
- West Bengal’s #1 ranked player for 8 years.
- India #1 junior player in 2007.
- Winner of 9 consecutive super series tournaments in the USA as a junior.
- Participated in junior grand slams — Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open.
- Ranked top 5 women’s singles and doubles in India.
- Top 600 WTA ranked player (singles and doubles).
- Played the ITF women’s tour for 9 years.
- Winner of ITF Singles $10,000 (Djibouti) and doubles $15,000 in Egypt.
- Member of the Indian contingent at the Asian Games 2010.
- Member of the Indian Federation Cup Team in 2010 and the only player from West Bengal to achieve this.
- National Champion – Women’s doubles (grass court).
- Winner for 3 consecutive years of the “India-Bhutan Championship”
