SPC Coach Showcase: Private Tennis Coaches

SPC Coach Showcase: Private Tennis Coaches

At SportsProsConnect, we are continuing our coach showcase series, created following a recent poll in our SPC New Job Alerts WhatsApp group.

We asked members: “Which of these roles best represents you as a coach?”

The poll gave us a valuable insight into the different types of coaches within the SPC network and helped highlight the wide range of experience, specialisms and ambitions among our members.

The results showed strong representation across several areas of the tennis industry:

This week, we are focusing on Private Coaches for families, a category that received 14 votes in the poll.

Private tennis coaching is a highly personal area of the game. It requires strong technical knowledge, but also patience, trust, communication, adaptability and an understanding of each player’s individual goals. For families, finding the right private coach is often about more than tennis ability alone. It is about finding someone who can create confidence, consistency and a positive environment for long-term development.

This week, we are showcasing three SPC coaches who bring a range of experience, personality and player-focused coaching qualities to private tennis environments.

Saul Toniolo

Trisha Vinod

Trisha Vinod believes that private coaching goes far beyond teaching strokes and footwork.

Her approach is focused on building strong, trusting relationships with players and creating an environment where they feel comfortable, motivated and confident to learn. This is especially important when working with children, where patience, encouragement and positive communication can make a significant difference to a player’s development.

Trisha is highly adaptable and tailors each lesson to the child’s personality, learning style and goals. Her sessions are dynamic and energetic, while still maintaining a clear focus on long-term progress.

She strongly believes in systematic learning, making sure each skill is developed step by step with purpose and consistency.

For Trisha, the goal is not only to help children become better tennis players, but also to build discipline, confidence, resilience and a genuine love for the game.

As a father of three, Steve understands the importance of patience, motivation and creating a safe, encouraging environment for young players. His experience living in the United States has also given him a broad international perspective, and his multilingual background allows him to communicate effectively with players and families from different cultures.

Steve’s work goes beyond the court. As a certified personal coach, health and nutrition coach, and with a background in catering, he offers a rounded approach to player development.

His coaching is not only about improving a player’s forehand or backhand. He also focuses on nutrition, physical conditioning, mental resilience and helping players develop into complete, healthy and confident athletes.

Steve’s approach combines expertise, empathy and professional guidance, making him well suited to families looking for a private coach who can support the wider development of their child.
