Our local info guide booklet
You have to see Florence just once. The birthplace of the Rennaissance movement in a city which holds more than 3/4 of the world’s most important art works. Need I say more….
• We have exclusive access to one of the best tennis clubs in Tuscany, with 16 courts, pool, gym, sauna, Turkish and a great restaurant
• Plus idyllic accommodation in a classic Tuscan setting
We are delighted to say our tennis venue, located just 9km south of Florence has proved to be extremely popular.
As with our centre in Lucca, TTH has secured exclusive access to this private member’s club. Facilities include 16 tennis courts (13 clay), swimming pool (open mid June to mid Sept) and snack bar, bar/restaurant, gym, Turkish bath and a five-a-side football pitch. The club’s extensive grounds set within the magnificent countryside, offer an ideal place to relax after tennis. However, the attractions of Florence and beyond will be hard to resist. Architecturally stunning and world-renowned as a centre for the arts, Florence is just 10 minutes away by car. Siena, host to the Palio horse race is a leisurely hour’s drive away through the beautiful Chianti region and other towns within easy reach are San Gimignano, Volterra, and Arezzo.
Syracuse is perfectly positioned in the south east of Sicily allowing you to visit some of the most interesting towns on the island including Noto and Ragusa. Catania airport is a short drive up the coast with the famous Taormina and Mount Etna just beyond.
Apart from all the many places to visit , Syracuse itself is an amazing town to stay in and is connected to the ancient town of Ortygia by several bridges , allowing easy access.
Both the Greek and Roman influence is quite noticeable here with a Greek temple in the centre of Ortygia plus Roman ruins and a wonderful Greek amphitheatre 100 metres from the tennis club!
As you would expect this area is full of fabulous bars, cafes ,restaurants and shops if the culture has become all too much!
Similar to Trapani our other Sicilian destination if you choose to stay in our accommodation near the centre of town you can leave the car in the evenings and explore this wonderful town which comes alive at night with so much to do.
