Stjepan Vlasic - High Performance Tennis Coach

Hi there, my name is Stjepan Vlasic – Stef, I am  43years young, father of two daughters (14 and 11 atm) and a professional tennis coach for over twenty years. Old enough to have the experience of 10+ Grand Slams and numerous WTA and ITF tournaments with many different excellent players and still young enough to run and play with them and have the motivation and energy for achieving great stuff.

Last 8 years I have been extensively on the ITF and WTA tour. My specialty is transition from juniors and entry pro levels to Grand Slam level.

Currently I am located in Zagreb after spending first part of this year (2025.) helping and traveling with Carolina Kuhl (GER – WTA400) and Tianhui Zhang (CHN – ATP675).

Qualifications

Eduaction:

  • Croatian Olympic Academy: national classification B
  • ITF coaching: level 2
  • Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP): expertise level – practitioner
  • Regularly attending coaching seminars in Croatia and Slovenia

Experience

COACHING EXPERIENCE:

2003. Started coaching at VICTORIA TENNIS CLUB in Zagreb. Within 2 years one of my first students (Marko Kojic) reached no.1 position for U10 in Zagreb

2005.-2008. CROATIAN TENNIS FEDERATION (HTS) – worked as an assistant coach for Andrej Tonejc who was the head coach for national junior development programme. This position included working with best croatian juniors at the time and also travelling with them on Tennis Europe (TE) and ITF tournaments

2006.-2010. Private coach for juniors and pro’s

  • Ivan Turudic (CRO): TE16 no.4, ITF juniors top100, national U18 champion
  • Alexandra Romanova (RUS): WTA400

2010.-2012. Head coach for Lidkopings Tennis Klubb (LTK) in Sweden

responsibilities: planning, programming, supervising and executing technical and tactical development of all junior levels from “play & stay” to national top level; educating, developing and supervising clubs coaching staff; reporting to club’s Executive Board; parents meetings

travel: Swedish national junior tournaments

Players best achievement:

  • Rebecca Ehn; Sweden’s top 5 for girls born 1999., national doubles champion for girls U14
  • Melker Isakson; Sweden’s top 10 for boys born 2000.

2013.-2014. Full time private coach

  • Sara Zalukar (CRO): national team U12

2014.-2015. DE LA GARDIE RIKSIDROTTSGYMNASIET, Lidkoping, Sweden

  • Swedish high school tennis program
  • Responsibilities: Head coach for technical and tactical development
  • Travel: ITF Juniors, ITF PRO circuit and Swedish national tournaments
  • Players: top Swedish juniors (16, 17 & 18y old)

2015.- present “SET UP Consulting” (founder and owner)
