Danniel Ruyange - Tennis Coach

Kampala
Uganda

Tennis has been a part of my family since I was a youngster, and I currently work as a coach, administrator, coordinator, and other related responsibilities.

I was fortunate to grow up in an environment of great Ugandan sportsmen, which allowed me to gain early exposure and win several junior and senior tournaments in my home country, with my younger brother, Duncan Mugabe, becoming one of the best in Uganda and Africa after receiving an early scholarship to the ITF Tennis Centre in Pretoria in the early 2000s

After having shoulder surgery, I was unable to continue playing professional tennis, so I turned to teaching and giving back to the sport because of my enthusiasm, talents, skills, and other abilities.

I adapt to different surroundings when coaching and teach groups and private lessons for individuals. I also coach all skill levels from the beginners, intermediate, mediate and advanced players/ students. I have the skills to determine the goals of the students and to use this information combined with their current abilities to put together lesson plans that will help them accomplish these goals.

I explain specific techniques to the students and teach them the correct form to use when serving the ball, proper swing, grip, stance and proper footwork. I explain areas where students need improving while providing encouragement and motivating them to push to their fullest potential. I put the safety of our students first.

I pride myself in creating professional, fun filled, adaptable and well- structured group and individual lessons to maximize learning and playing experience while having the best time on the court.

My tennis lessons are in line with the guidelines set by the ITF’S (International Tennis Federation) and Modern Tennis Methodology (MTM) Programs.
