I’m João Silverio, a global high-performance tennis coach with over a decade of international experience developing champions at national and professional levels.

A former top-ranked junior in Portugal and ATP-ranked player, I have guided players across all stages; from promising juniors to ATP professionals, Grand Slam competitors, and NCAA Division I athletes. My career includes coaching elite players such as Gastão Elias (ATP No. 57) and mentoring numerous ITF and collegiate athletes who’ve gone on to achieve remarkable competitive success.

Recognized by the United States government as an individual of extraordinary ability (EB-1 visa), I bring a results-driven and holistic coaching philosophy that combines technical precision, physical conditioning, mental resilience, and strategic development.

Currently based in South Florida, I am available for private coaching, tournament preparation, and performance consulting for motivated juniors, collegiate players, and professionals seeking to elevate their game with purpose, structure, and identity.

About Me

Outside tennis, I’m a sports addict, travel enthusiast, and proud coffee lover who still celebrates every Benfica goal like it’s a Grand Slam and occasionally challenging friends on the PS5. My goal is simple; to help every player I work with build their own identity, play with purpose, and enjoy the process.

Owner & Head Coach – JSTA Tennis Academy, China (2021–Present)

Founded and led one of China’s premier tennis academies, developing junior and professional talent.
Designed and implemented world-class training programs, producing champions in prestigious national tournaments.
Established JSTA as a top-tier institution in Shenzhen, recognized for elite player development.

Tennis Director & Head Coach – Atop International Academy, China (2019–2021)

Managed the high-performance program at the Olympic Sports Center in Fuzhou in collaboration with Nick Saviano High Performance.
Mentored players who achieved ITF top rankings and secured NCAA scholarships.
Strengthened the academy’s reputation as a leading training center for aspiring professionals.

ATP Tour Travel Coach (2012–2019)

Coached professional players, including Gastão Elias (ATP 57), Pedro Sousa (ATP 99), and João Domingues (ATP 150).
