Piotr Unierzyski

Piotr Unierzyski is a tennis coach, coach educator and researcher.  Since his playing career he has been working at the University of Physical Education in Poznan, Poland and a tennis coach of all levels, shapes and sizes.  Currently he holds the position of ‘Director of Coaching’ for the Polish Tennis Federation, and has been involved in many projects with the ITF over the years.

Experience

Piotr Unierzyski is a coach, coaches’ educator and researcher. After intense tennis career he has been working at the University of Physical Education in Poznan for 30 years but also as a coach with players of all levels; from beginner to professionals – among others he was Polish National Coach and ITF touring teams coach. Some of junior players coached by Piotr as national, private or ITF touring coach later became top professionals, Grand Slam Junior Winners and European Champions. 

As Coach educator Piotr has taught over 2500 coaches in over 20 countries. Currently, he holds the position of Director of Coaching for Polish Tennis Association. Since 2013, he has been running his own  “Coaches Academy” – which is an external provider for organising and conducting certification courses for the Polish Tennis Association.  Based on ITF Assessment, The coaches Education System run by Dr. Piotr Unierzyski is recognised by the International Tennis Federation.

Working extensively as the ITF Expert since 1994, Piotr participated in over 140 congresses and workshops all over the world, has given lectures at many universities, national and international congresses and workshops in over 50 countries. He has also been a key note speaker during ITF and Tennis Europe conferences. Piotr has been strongly involved in Tennis10 and Play&Stay Campaigns in Poland and internationally. He wrote three manuals for Tennis10 programs and prepared a series of courses aimed at coaches involved in the program.

Piotr holds a doctoral degree in Sport Science, has written over 100 scientific and methodological publications and 8 books, and is a member of Editorial Boards in several scientific journals.
He also runs his own consultation company advising national federations, organizations and clubs. He is an author of Coaches Education Programs, Players’ Development and Talent Identification Systems.
