I am of French and Greek origin. I was born in Greece, grew up in Luxembourg and Belgium, studied in England and have been living in Madrid for the past fifteen years. I have been playing tennis since my early childhood and have accumulated over a decade of experience teaching tennis to hundreds of players of all origins, ages and levels.

I am a level 2 coach (Entrenador) by the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation (RFET/ITF, 2019) and hold a PhD in political science (University of Warwick, 2009).

I strive for excellence in my coaching. I have a teaching vocation and a high capacity to transmit knowledge in a fun manner, achieving a high ability to generate client loyalty. I use a unique methodology that consistently combines RFET/ITF and Evolution (Barcelona) elements to adapt to my students’ needs and to maximise their performance.

I specialise in the video analysis of technical gestures and tactical patterns in match situations and like to take advantage of technological inputs to measure the progress of players over time within well-defined training systems and programmes. I systematically use tennis coaching to both transmit positive values to my students (self-development, fair play, mutual respect, effort in overcoming obstacles, self-discipline, teamwork, humility…) and to enhance their mental strength and problem-solving abilities.

Tennis is my main hobby and passion. My other hobbies include racquet sports such as padel (for which I have some coaching experience), badminton, table tennis and squash; reading classical history, especially ancient Greek and Roman history; playing the piano and digital music composition; playing strategy boardgames such as Diplomacy, Carcassonne and Axis & Allies; and keeping abreast of contemporary international relations.

  • 2015-2018: Tennis coordinator, in charge of after-school tennis programme. American School of Madrid.

I was searching for a coach to get back to tennis training after moving to Madrid. My Spanish was bad so I needed an English- speaking coach and a tennis partner introduced Andreas to me. Andreas speaks perfect English (he also speaks Spanish and French). He is also wonderful as a coach, definitely the best tennis coach I've ever had. I highly recommend him! I was at intermediate level- could hit the ball consistently, decent forehand etc. but my backhand wasn't solid and my serve was terrible. Andreas was experienced, systematic and also very patient. During my roughly 1.5 years of training with Anreas, my skills improved considerably - now my forehand becomes a weapon, backhand is much more consistent, and my serve is getting into some shape. Andreas not only strengthened the basics but also taught tactics via countless enjoyable (but also exhausting) drills - how to build up advantage and win points. My skills improved immensely on all dimensions. I am back in the US now. The first time I played in a tennis clinic in the states since I am back, an advanced player asked if I'd be interested in playing in a local tournament - which I took as a huge compliment and a test to my improvement in tennis skills thanks to training with Andreas. Andreas is not only a great coach; he is also a wonderful human being to chat and have a conversation with. I'll definitely miss training with him.

Andreas is top-notch. We've had well over 20 sessions with him and our game certainly improved! My wife and I are now able to rally with one another, which is precisely what we wanted to achieve. Andreas also speaks multiple languages! We definitely had a lot of fun training with him, and gladly recommend him to anyone looking to get into tennis, or polishing their game, set, and match!
