I am Mohamed Safwat, an Egyptian tennis athlete. With a birth date of September 19, 1990. my journey in the sport spans over a decade of unwavering dedication and unparalleled achievements. Throughout this time, I have consistently held a position an Egypt\\\’s top-ranked player.

In the year of 2020, I achieved a significant milestone, reaching a career-high ATP ranking of 130. Currently, I maintain a ranking of 360. Notably, I made history as the first male Egyptian player to qualify for the esteemed Tokyo Olympics in 2020. In addition to my individual accolades, I have assumed the esteemed role of Davis Cup playing captain since September 2023 under my strategic leadership, Egypt achieved a historic milestone by ascending to Group 1 for the first time.
Beyond my exploits on court, I am deeply passionate about cultivating the future of Egyptian tennis.
Collaborating closely with the federation, I am actively involved in developing comprehensive programs aimed at nurturing young talents and ensuring the sustained growth and success of Egyptian tennis on the global stage.

Playing experience

I’ve been playing tennis since I was 6 years old. I started playing local tournaments at age 9. In juniors, I reached a career-high ranking of 41. I began my professional career in 2008.

About you

I’ve been working hard to reach the top 200 in tennis rankings while also supporting the next generation of Egyptian players to reach their full potential.

 

I have won several tournaments in both singles and doubles across Challenger and Futures circuits. With 19 singles titles and 12 doubles titles in Futures tournaments, along with 1 singles title and 3 doubles titles in Challenger events.

Current and Previous Coach, Club & Academies

I trained at Juan Carlos Ferraro Academy in the early stages of my career. I also worked at Good to Great Tennis Academy in Sweden from 2021 to 2022. Currently, I’m Currently working with Gilbert Schaller.
